Abstract

938,958. Boots &c. SCHOLL MFG. CO. Ltd. July 20, 1960 [Aug. 11, 1959], No. 25332/60. Class 17 (2). A shoe has a wedge-shaped heel lift 2 above the outsole 1 and extending under the longitudinal arch, an insole 4 over the heel lift and the outsole, an outturned upper secured to the insole as at 17, and a yieldable arch lift 7 secured to the insole 4, the forward portion of the heel lift being skived off and disposed beneath the forward portion of the arch lift. The arch lift may be covered by a false insole 5. This arch lift 7 is preferably crescent-shaped and cuneiform in section. A toe stiffener 13, a counter stiffener 15 and small piece of lining 14 may be inserted. The upper, welt 19, insole, and counter stiffener are joined by lock-stitches or the like.
