Abstract

929,691. Cutting tools. METRO-CUTANIT Ltd. April 4, 1962 [April 19, 1961], No. 14148/61. Class 83 (3). A lathe or other tool having a cutting tip clamped in a holder has the tip provided, on one or both clamping faces, with parallel teeth 2, 3, or, with pyramidal denticules over part of these faces. The teeth are adapted to bite into deformable material 10 provided on the face of the clamping member 9. The deformable material may be copper, lead or nylon and may be separate in the form of a shim. The tip may be of tungsten carbide.
