Abstract

926,627. Pallets for handling loads. W. E. WOODWARD & CO. Ltd., and W. E. WOODWARD. June 19, 1959 [June 19, 1958], No. 19615/58. Class 78 (4). A wooden pallet comprising boards 15, Fig. 1, supported at the end by wooden bearers 9 is reinforced by metal stiffeners 9<SP>1</SP> running along the outer edges of the end boards and attached to metal reinforcing members 1 engaging the ends of the bearers 9. The members 1 comprise L or U-section or flat plates 1, 2, Fig. 4, welded to the stiffeners 9<SP>1</SP> as at 3, 4 and engaging the side faces of the bearers 9. The plates 1, 2 may further be bolted to the bearers 9.
