Abstract

907,946. Pallets for handling loads. FLOW PRODUCTS Inc. April 22, 1960 [May 28, 1959; Jan. 25, 1960], No. 14154/60. Class 78 (4). [Also in Group XXII] In a load handling pallet the top and bottom boards 30, 32 [Fig. 10) and the stringer 34 are connected together by binders 42 which are welded at X to dowels 40. The binders and dowels are of metal and the welding is effected by induction heating with the pallet in an hydraulic clamp (Fig. 7, not shown). The binders may pass around and reinforce the ends of the stringer (Fig. 11, not shown). As shown in Fig. 16, the dowels comprise mating portions 132, 135 welded to binders 131, 134 before assembly of the pallets and subsequently welded together at Y. According to a modification (Fig. 21) strips 151 are driven in the manner of staples through the boards and stringers, and have their ends either welded together at 152, or secured to washers 155 by welding or riveting.
