Abstract
910,149. Bag holders. FROGGART, J. H. Oct. 3, 1960 [Oct. 19, 1959], No. 35255/59. Class 58. A holder for a greaseproof paper or washable plastic bag 19 receiving waste comprises a mounting bracket 5, e.g. secured to a wall, having two horizontal arms 5a, and two similar bagsupporting members each having a horizontal portion 7 or 8 connecting a pair of downwardly extending limbs 7a or 8a. The limbs 7a and 8a are pivoted to the arms 5a about pivots 9 and 10 and to each other about pivots 11. When the members are in a closed position their portions 7 and 8 meet and when they are in a fully open position they abut tongues 12 on the arms 5a. The members are urged towards a closed or open position by helical, over-centre springs 13 and 14 attached to tongues 15 and 16 on the arms 5a and limbs 7a, 8a. Channelshaped clamps 17 and 18 are pivoted to the ends of the portions 7 and 8. In order to suspend the bag detachably from the portions 7 and 8, the clamps are swung upwards, opposite sides of the mouth of the bag are folded over the said portions and the clamps are then swung down to clamp the bag to them. The holder can function with a single over-centre spring.
