Abstract
969,972. Sack-holding devices. PAPER SACKS Ltd. Sept.18, 1962 [Oct. 5, 1961], No. 35861/61. Heading B8C. A device for supporting a paper or synthetic plastic sack comprises a framework 1 to which the mouth of the sack 9 is clamped in openmouthed condition by means of cams 6, pivotally mounted on arms 7 around the outside of the framework and movable into positions in which they join portions of the sack adjacent its mouth against the outside of the framework, the weight of each cam 6 being arranged so that it tends to rotate the cam downwards into the jointing position. Each cam 6 rotates about a horizontal axis 8. The annular framework 1 is supported on a bracket 3 and is provided with a hinged lid 4. In a second embodiment the framework is rectangular and two pairs of cams 6 are mounted on rods 11 supported by brackets 12 on two opposite sides 1a, 1b of the framework. The side 1a is pivotally attached as at 10 to the rest of the framework so that the area bounded by the lower margin thereof can be reduced to facilitate application of the sack 9 to the framework.
