Abstract

607,051. Tubular electric lamp fittings. THORPE, Ltd., F. W., and THORPE, F. W. Jan. 24, 1946, No. 2326. [Classes 75(iii) and 75(iv)] [Also in Group XXXVI] The carriers 2 for the lamp holders of tubular fluorescent lamps are hingedly connected to the body 1 so as to allow convenient packing for transport. Each carrier 2 may be attached to a plate 4, Fig. 2, connected to a hinge 5 and held normally by a spring 7. When the lamp is to be packed for storage or transport, however, the carriers 2 may be swung into their respective apertures 6 and be held by cardboard tied in position. In a modification each carrier may be secured to a bracket 8, Fig. 4, hinged at 9 so that the carrier may swing into a stowed-away position in the body 1a, a lid 1b holding the carrier in the " in use position or in the " stowedaway" position. Specifications 573,781 and 585,198, [Group XXXVI], are referred to.
