Abstract

904,183. Cigarette cartons. GRAVETT, J., and MOLINS MACHINE CO. Ltd. Nov. 25, 1958 [Nov. 27, 1957], No. 36983/57. Class 18. A cigarette carton is folded up from a cardboard blank as shown in Fig. 3, so that two oppositely disposed lid portions are formed each hinged along a crease line 6 to a side panel 1 and comprising a side 3, a top 4 and two ends 5, swingable downwardly to open and upwardly to close the carton. The carton ends 2 are formed of double thickness, as are lid tops 4 and ends 5; inserts 7 glued to the inside of the ends 2 project up to the level of the cigarette ends and provide frictional engagement with the ends 5 when the lids are closed. An insert 8 (dotted lines) may be glued inside one lid top 4 to enhance its engagement against the other lid top 4.
