Abstract
893,941. Fire alarms. NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION CO. Ltd. Dec. 7, 1960, [Sept. 8, 1959], No. 30709/59. Class 118. [Also in Group XXI] A powder or fluid sprinkler suspended from a ceiling 11 (Fig. 1), has the extinguishing medium in a container 10 under pressure and valve means (not shown), releasably manually, 52, or by fusible or inflammable type means 44, controlling nozzles 15, Fig. 2, on a ring main 65. The container 10 is sealed by a diaphragm (not shown) punctured by a sprung knife 16 (Fig. 3). A micro-switch 57, (Fig. 4), operated by the lever 32 which releases the knife 16, controls also alarm bells (not shown). The extinguishing medium may be powder or chlorobromomethane, and either with nitrogen and dichlorodifluoromethane. Drop curtains (not shown) may also be released when the extinguisher is operated.
