Abstract

1455755 Fire detecting and extinguishing system PYROTECTOR INC 15 July 1974 [19 July 1973] 31299/74 Heading A5A [Also in Division G4] A fire detecting and extinguishing system comprises one or more IR-sensitive, fire detection units 10 which energize a solenoid 14 of solenoid valve 16 to release extinguishant from container 18 to discharge nozzles 22 via piping 20 and a pressure switch 24 which detects the pressure of the extinguishant on its release from container 18 and maintains 16 open so long as extinguishant pressure is detected irrespective of units 10 providing a continuous fire detection signal. Valve 16 may be opened manually via cable 32 and lever 34.
