Abstract

891,306. Mattresses. SLUMBERLAND GROUP Ltd. Jan. 12, 1961 [Nov. 4, 1959], No. 37371/59. Class 52(4) A mattress reinforcing spring or stabilizer comprises two complementary members 14, 15 of metal strip, the free ends of which are interconnected by links 18 engaging troughs 17 in the members, a tension spring 16 being connected between the said free ends by means of anchorages 19 each comprising a flat strip slit centrally with the parts 20, 21 cranked in opposite directions. The members 14, 15 are secured to the upper and lower peripheral frames respectively by the pitch wires 12 which secure the coil springs 10 to the frames. In modifications, Figs. 8, 9, the spring anchorages 21 have heads 22 with recesses to receive the curved or straight ends of members 14, 15.
