Abstract
533,666. Mattresses, seats &c. CROWN BEDDING CO., and WALLIS, L. S. Nov. 7, 1939, No. 29527. [Class 52 (iv)] A spring surface for mattresses, seats and the like is made up from a number of arched or bowed units each comprising a pair of resilient wires a, b, which are formed with spaced complementary flat coils c, the adjacent coils on the two wires being linked together by clips d or wire links allowing each coil to rock relative to the other. The ends of the unit are mounted in a rigid frame so that the spacing between them is fixed. When a central load is imposed on the unit, it flattens at the centre and increases in curvature at the ends.
