Abstract

886,135. Mowing machines. PARSONS, B. L. Jan. 19, 1960 [Jan. 19, 1959 ; Sept. 28, 1959], No. 1830/60. Class 6(3). A mower comprises a pair of superimposed outer bars 47 inclined relative to one another so that the teeth of one bar contact the teeth of the other, with the bars diverging from one another rearwardly of the teeth. The cutter bars are reciprocated by a pair of medially pivoted levers 27, 32 each of which is connected at one end to a cutter bar, the levers being connected by a link 31 and the lever 27 being connected by a link 26 to a crank 23 driven from a tractor power shaft 56. The cutter bars are supported by members 39, 42 fixed to a tube 36 and the rear part of the cutter bars may be spaced apart by rivets 93 on the lower cutter bar or alternatively by a member secured to the tube 36.
