The reel 6 of a harvester, adjustable both horizontally and vertically is supported between two beams 8, a driving pulley 22 being mounted on one of the beams at a fixed distance from the reel shaft 7 and connected thereto by a belt or chain through a pulley 21 mounted on the shaft 7. A support structure comprises two parallel columns 2 connected by a cross-bar, Fig. 2 (not shown) and carrying arms 3 the far ends of which are rigidly connected by a tube 4 which acts as a bearing for a shaft 5. Beams 8 are slidably supported in sleeves 9, the sleeves being kept parallel by rigid attachment to the ends of the shaft 5. To enable the distance between shafts 7 and 5 to be adjusted, the beams 8 are connected at the rear by a shaft 10 having at each end a lever 11 connected in each case, by a pin 12 to a lever 13 joined to sleeve 9 by a pin 14. One of the levers 11 has an extension lever 15 co-operating with a slotted quadrant 16. Drive to the reel from the power shaft of a tractor is through the driving element 20, mounted on the support structure, a telescopic cardan joint 23 and the pulleys 22 and 21. A reciprocating cutter may also be driven from the member 20. Two links 18 and a link 19 join the support structure to the tractor.
