Abstract
859,194. Knitting-machines. ZAPADOMORAVSKE STROJIRNY, NARODNI PODNIK. Feb. 26, 1958 [March 25, 1957], No. 6257/58. Class 74 (2). A stop motion for a circular latch needle machine comprises a feeler 2 adapted to engage an outstretched latch in the event of yarn failure or other irregularity, which feeler is secured to the lower end of a spindle 7. Attached to the upper end of the spindle 7 within a casing 10 is trigger pawl 13, one arm 17 of which is connected by a spring 18 to a pivoted lever 19 serving as one of two electrical contacts. The action of the spring 18 is to turn the pawl 13 so that its other arm 14 abuts the side of the casing and such that a tooth 15 on the end of the arm is disengaged from a slot 20 in the contact 19 and holds the contact spaced from the second fixed electrical contact 28 secured in the lid of the casing. In this position also the spring holds the feeler 2 in its operative position adjacent the needles. Upon a latch engaging the feeler 2 the pawl is turned against the action of the spring until the tooth 15 engages in the slot 20 of the contact 19 which is then drawn by the spring into contact with the fixed contact 28, thereby completing the circuit of the stop motion.
