Abstract
858,629. Envelopes. LEWIS, L. G. June 3, 1957 [June 22, 1956], No. 19440/56. Class 146(2). An envelope of the kind which is not sealed for transit, comprises a rectangular portion I and four flaps, three of which 2, 3, 5 when folded in overlapping relation form a receptacle, separate from the interior of the envelope, for the reception of at least the tip of the fourth flap 4. which is retained in the receptacle solely by the facial pressure of the other flaps thereupon. To make the envelope, flap 2 is first folded over, then flap 4. Next flap 3 is folded and stuck to flap 2 along line 6. In this condition the contents can be inserted after which the flap 5 is folded and stuck along lines 7 as in a normal sealable envelope. The flap 4 remains free. In a modification one of each pair of flaps is free. Specification 28,020/09 is referred to.
