Abstract
861,086. Envelopes. DONCK, M. VAN DER. May 7, 1959 [June 25, 1958], No. 15659/59. Class 146(2). An envelope comprises a central part 3 and flaps 4-7 joined by fold lines 8-11. An additional lining sheet 12 the size of the flap 5 has a gummed surface 13 up to lines 14 and is placed against the fold line 9. The side flaps 4, 6, which are under the other flaps in the completed envelope, are first folded on to the central part 3 and overlap the lining sheet 12 but do not reach the gummed area 13 which is then moistened and the flap 5 folded and secured thereto so that the side flaps are caught between the flap 5 and its lining 12. After insertion of the contents the flap 7 can be secured at its edges to the side flaps 4, 6 to give the appearance of a sealed envelope which however is unsealed since the flap 7 is not stuck to the flap 5 which can be withdrawn together with its lining 12. In a modification the lining sheet is not of the same size and shape as the flap 5.
