Abstract

771,788. Envelopes. SPURR, J. June 14, 1954 [June 24, 1953], No. 17517/53. Class 146(2). In an envelope 8 having a covering of adhesive for sealing the envelope and/or a hinged closure flap 4, the outside surface of the front or back panel is substantially or entirely coated with adhesive. The envelope is secured, by this adhesive, to a carton &c. 7 and is accessible from the outside for the insertion of a message even if the carton is closed to retain its contents. The envelope may be secured to the outer surface of the carton, as in Fig. 3, or passed through a slit 9 in the carton and secured to the inner surface thereof, as in Fig. 4. In the latter arrangement an address label 10 may be stuck on the outside of the carton. Specification 771,789 [Group XVII] is referred to.
