Abstract

Natural rubber latex containing not more than 0,2% ammonia is preserved by the synergistic action of at least two other chemicals, one being chlorinated tri-sodium phosphate. Specified chemicals are formaldehyde, zinc oxide, selenium salts of elalkyl dithiocarbamates, antioxidants of the andathylamine or phenol-condensate type, or hicphting agents obtained from a betaine structure, e.g. an alkali metal or ammonium salt of ethylene diamine tetracetic acid or the zinc complex thereof. The synergist may be added either before or after concentration of the latex.
