Abstract

Hevea latex containing between 0.15 and 0.5% of ammonia is preserved by the addition of 0.04-0.2% of selenium alkyl dithiocarbamate, preferably the dimethyl or diethyl derivative. An anionic surfactant, e.g. an ammonium soap such as ammonium laurate, in amount between 0.01 and 0.1% may also be added.
