Abstract
Diphenyl mercury or other diaryl mercury compounds are made by reacting an aryl mercury compound with a chelating agent in the presence of ammonium ions. Specified are aryl mercury hydroxides and salts such as the acetates: and ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid and diethylene triaminopenta-acetate, which may be used as their alkali metal including ammonium salts.
