Abstract

[Also in Group XXIV] An electric motor or clockwork mechanism 5 drives a cam 10 mounted on a shaft 7, so that a lever 23 is pivoted about an axis 12. The latter carries a ratchet wheel 16 with recesses 18 receiving rollers 20, 21 pressed by springs .22 against fixed and movable housings 15, 19, respectively. The lever 23 is carried by the housing 19 and the arrangement is such that during clockwise movement of lever 23, wheel 16 is locked by rollers 20 and the fixed housing, and during the return movement of lever 23 caused by a spring 28, the housing 19 and the wheel are clutched together by rollers 21, so that the wheel is moved one step counterclockwise. A cam 36 is thereby moved to operate an adjustably-mounted snap-action switch 38. The movement of lever 23 is varied by an adjustable stop 30A.
