Abstract

767,546. Snap-action switches. SANTON, Ltd. Sept. 21, 1955 [Sept. 27, 1954], No. 27779/54. Class 38(5) A rotary switch in which a spindle 13' drives a contact-carrying spindle 15 through a spring 8 in which energy is stored and subsequently released by a locking spring 10 fixed to a plate 14 mounted on the spindle 15 and having upturned ends 11 co-operating with fixed stops 12, these ends being depressed out of locking engagement with the stops by arms 9 on a plate 6 fixed to the spindle 13, has an emergency drive for the spindle 15 in the event of fracture of the spring 8 comprising the engagement of a spring end 11 by the side of an arm 9, Fig. 3. The depth of the arms 9 is greater than that of the stops 12 whereby an arm 9 may engage a spring end 11 to drive the spindle 15 through all its positions by continued rotation of the spindle 13.
