Abstract
849,593. Side-delivery rakes. VAN DER LELY N. V., C. May 6, 1958 [May 9, 1957], No. 14501/58. Class 6(3). In a side delivery rake of the type having a frame 1, 6 and a set of rake-wheels 2, 3, of which at least one is movable to different locations on the frame, the movable rake-wheel 24 is mounted on a member 22 which has alternative means for attachment to the frame on both sides of the rake-wheel plane. As shown in Fig. 1, the device constitutes a side-delivery rake and is drawn in the direction of the arrow I. By removing the members. 22, 39 from the frame and re-mounting them on the frame at 44, 45 the device can be used as a swath-turner. All the rake-wheels can be turned about vertical pivots 4 so as to occupy positions substantially perpendicualar to the general direction of the frame 1, and when so turned, the device can be drawn in a different direction, Fig. 5 (not shown). to act as a tedder. The attaching means comprises a pair of abutting flanges 26, 31 one of which has a hook-like extension 32, the flanges being anchored together by lugs and withdrawable pins 38.
