Abstract

837,248. Side-delivery rakes. VAN DER LELY N. V., C. March 17, 1958 [March 25, 1957], No. 8498/58. Class 6(3). In a tractor-drawn side-delivery rake of the type having an oblique beam carrying a line of rake-wheels, the beam consists of members joined end-to-end there being two main members 25, 26 and a detachable intermediate member 21 carrying at least one rake-wheel 24. The machine is mounted on tractor lift-links 3, 4, 5 by an inverted T-shaped member 6 attached to their ends. A sleeve 12 is pivoted to the member 6 about a horizontal bearing 10 and is floatingly supported by a spring 15. A drawbar 13 is mounted in the sleeve by a pin-and-slot connection 42 which allows limited floating about the axis of the sleeve. The intermediate member 21 is joined to the members 25, 26 by bolted flanges 22, 23 and to the drawbar by a trunnion 16. When the intermediate member is removed a modified rear portion of the trunnion 16 is clamped between the adjacent flanges 22, 23. The whole machine can be turned through 180 degrees about the sleeve axis for tedding. The obliquity of the rakewheels is adjustable by a stay 39.
