Abstract
725,760. Side-delivery rakes. VAN DER LELY N. V., C. June 17, 1953 [June 24, 1952], No. 1.6701/53. Class 6 (3). A side-delivery rake of the kind having a series of oblique rake-wheels 1, 2, 3 mounted on cranks 16, 17 pivoted to a wheeled frame 5 is characterised. in that at least one of the cranks extends forwardly. In Fig. 1 the downwardyturned end 4 of the frame 5 is resiliently supported by a castor-wheel assembly 6, 7 connected to it by parallel links. The part 4 carries fixed axles 13; 18 on which are mounted the wheel 2 and the crank 16, the crank 17 being also pivoted to the axle 13. The cranks 16, 17 carry the wheels 1, 3 and are connected by springs 20 to a bar 21 mounted on the castorwheel assembly. To avoid damaging the forwardly-extending crank 10 the axle 18 is lower than the hub 14 of the wheel 1 and an abutment A is provided to prevent excessive downward movement of the crank. In a modification, Fig. 6, a double crank 2 7. 30 is centrally pivoted to the frame 4 and carries further pivoted cranks 28, 31 for the rake-wheels 2, 3, 1a, 1b. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 680,537.
