773,831. Hay-tedders. WUSTER, H. March 9, 1955 [March 16, 1954], No. 6964/55. Class 6(3). A hay-tedder comprises a mobile frame carrying rake-wheels 1, 2, inclined to the direction of travel of the frame and rotated by ground-engagement, the foremost wheels 1 serving to rake the crop laterally into the zone of action of the tedding wheels 2 which are oppositely inclined to the line of travel F and are staggered relatively to the foremost wheels. The wheels 1 rake the crop into swaths S whence it is raked into further swaths S<SP>1</SP> by the wheels 2. In another form, rake-wheels 4, 5, 6, 7 are mounted on cranks 8 on a triangular wheeled frame 3. Alternate wheels may be swung around (5) or moved in position on the frame (7, 7<SP>1</SP>) for tedding, but the wheels may be arranged in a single oblique series (dotted) for normal side-delivery.
