Relates to a haymaking machine of the kind having a frame 1 supported on swivel-wheels 2, 3, 4 at least one of which has a lockable swivel-axis and a row of rake-wheels 6-9, the arrangement being that for different haymaking operations the device is drawn in different directions, in which the rake-wheel row lies to the left or to the right respectively of the line of draught. According to the invention the point of connection of the draught-device to the frame for the various haymaking operations is the same and coincides with a vertical shaft 23 lying in or near to the vertical plane through the rake-wheel centres. In Fig. 1, the rake wheels are carried by cranks 14 pivoted on the ends of arms 12 which are pivoted to a beam 5 of the frame, about vertical axes 11. For side-delivery the arms 12 lie parallel to the beam 5, but for tedding the arms, cranks, and rake-wheels are swung into the dotted position wherein the rake-wheels lie to the right of the line of draught IV. The cranks are suspended by springs 43 and chains 42 from bell-cranks 30-33 coupled together by a rod 29 and actuated by a lever 45. In Fig. 2 rigid arms 70 project almost perpendicularly from the beam 60 and carry on their ends alternative bearings 74, 99 for the rake-wheel cranks in the alternative positions. The frame also includes a second beam 105 with bearings 106, 107, 108, for use in swath-turning. To allow for different swath widths, one of the arms 71 carries an additional bearing 109.
