Abstract
839,630. Haymaking machines. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. July 3, 1956 [July 5, 1955], No. 20609/56, Class 6(3). Relates to a tractor-drawn haymaking machine having rake-wheels 91, 97, 93, driven from the tractor through power-transmission elements 95, 98, 99. According to the invention, the rake-wheels are mounted on axles 76, 79, 96, which are associated with the elements, and at least one of which can support a rake-wheel at an alternative position so that the rake-wheels can be arranged to co-operate, for side-delivery, Fig. 1, or to operate independently, for tedding, Fig. 3. The machine is mounted on lockable swivel-wheels 86, 87 at opposite ends of a main beam 73, carrying bearings 74, 77 for the axles 76, 79. A drawbar 72 is secured perpendicularly to the beam 73 and is connected to a drawplate 71 on a tractor 70, the power take-off 104 of which drives the input-shaft 100 of a gearbox 95 through a telescopic shaft 102. Chain-drives 98, 99 connect the gearbox with the axles 76, 79 with the output-shaft 96 which carries a rake-wheel 97. The rake-wheels have tines 109 carried by cranked portions 108 protruding from a rim 107.
