Abstract

825,944. Valves. TESLA, NARODNI PODNIK. April 20, 1956 [May 31, 1955], No. 12133/56. Class 135. A vacuum valve having a ground closing plate 1, Fig. 1, slidable over a plane seating face 2<SP>1</SP> on the valve casing 2 is provided with a seating ring 7 carrying a gasket 8 and resiliently mounted on a flexible sealing diaphragm 6 and a flexible bellows 10 so that on operation of a forked pivoted lever 11 the ring 7 may be moved towards and away from the plate 1 prior to the opening and closing of the valve by a rod 3. In a modified construction, the plate 1, Fig. 4, is fixed to a pivot pin 3 which on rotation by a lever 11 opens and closes the valve. The same lever 11 co-operates through a pivoted lever 14 with a bifurcated lever 15 to move a sleeve 7 mounting a gasket 8 and resiliently carried by the sealing diaphragm 6 and flexible bellows 10 towards and away from the plate 1. When the valves are open the respective gaskets 8 may be sealed against the respective seating faces 2<SP>1</SP>.
