Abstract
813,553. Hydraulic actuation of switches. GLOSTER AIRCRAFT CO. Ltd. Sept. 3,1957 [Sept. 3, 1956], No. 26877/56. Class 38 (5). A switch which is operated only when the difference between two hydraulic pressures is unequal to the difference between two other hydraulic pressures comprises a body 1 having two pistons 4, 4a. The piston 4 is acted on by hydraulic pressures fed via ports 2, 3 such that it pushes against a rod 4<SP>1</SP> which in turn engages a member 5 abutting a corresponding member 5a opposedly urged by piston 4a. Telescopic members 6, 6a, held apart by a spring 8, carry contacts 7, 7a wired to connector pins 9, 9a. Should the differential pressure on piston 4 exceed that on piston 4a, for example, the piston 4a is pushed to the left and a flange on member 5 bears against member 6 to compress spring 8 and bring contacts 7, 7a into engagement.
