Abstract

904,042. Controllers. YALE & TOWNE MANUFACTURING CO. March 18, 1960 [March 25, 1959], No. 9612/60. Class 38 (3). A controller for an industrial truck is biased to a neutral position by a spring-loaded plunger 21 which must be disengaged by a fluid-operated piston 27 controlled by a pedal valve 36. The controller shaft 10 has a flat 22 against which the plunger is urged by spring 23; the pedal valve 36 admits fluid under pressure at 35 causing the piston, through connecting block 33, to withdraw the plunger. Release of the pedal, e.g. through injury to the operator, exhausts the fluid to a reservoir and the plunger returns the shaft 10 to the neutral position shown. The shaft has further flats along its length by which plungers operate switches 14.
