[Also in Group XXIX] A power-operating system, particularly applicable to motor vehicle steering, comprises a double-acting piston-and-cylinder motor and a control valve disposed exteriorly of the piston of the motor, the valve including two relatively movable elements which form reaction chamber means and include surfaces of unequal areas such that the variable control pressures developed as a result of actuation of the valve can act on one or the other of these reaction surfaces according to the sense in which the valve is actuated. The invention is described with reference to the disclosure in Specification 779,121.
