Abstract

1,218,886. Fluid-pressure brakes. WESTING- HOUSE BREMSEN UND APPARATEBAU G.m.b.H. 14 Feb., 1969 [17 Feb., 1968], No. 8042/69. Heading F2F. In a dual circuit brake valve including a housing within which are mounted a primary piston 12 and a secondary piston 14 operable to control primary and secondary brake circuits the primary piston when operated by the vehicle driver operating a primary valve 21 to energize the primary circuit and this energization acting on the larger area of the secondary piston 14 to operate a second valve 25 to energize the secondary circuit while a mechanical linkage couples the primary piston to the secondary one if there is no energization of the primary circuit so that the secondary circuit is still operable by the driver, a compression spring 40 between the pistons is urged by the primary piston, when operated, against the secondary piston.
