Abstract
805,091. Mine roof support bars. WESTWOOD, H. V. Dec. 2, 1955 [Dec. 2, 1954], No. 34890/54. Class 20(2) A mine roof support bar is of channel section widest at the middle whence there is a platform 9 spanning the channel against which a pit prop 10 bears. The side plates 1 of the bar are extended to form ears 3, 4 the ears 3 have a block 8 between them and are adapted to fit between the ears 4 of another bar, the ears being connected by a pin 5 and the bars locked in alignment by a wedge 14 engaging slots in the ears 4 and the inclined ends of the ears 3 and block 8. The bar is reinforced by webs 15, 16, 17.
