Abstract
930,996. Mine roof supports. RHEINSTAHL WANHEIM G.m.b.H. Sept. 14, 1959 [Sept. 13, 1958], No. 41649/61. Divided out of 930,995. Class 85. In a mine the roof bars 11 in a face gallery are connected to the roof support 22 of an adjacent roadway by means of a connecting element 25, 27. The part 25 may be a flat web as shown, or may be forked, and is attached to the corresponding end of the bar 11 by a pivot pin 11d and by a wedge 11e. The two parts 25, 27 may be pivoted together at 26 and the part 27 is secured to the support 22 by bolts or by wedges. If the roadway support telescopes separately from that in the gallery then the part 27 may slide on the support. The roof bars 11 support the free gallery either directly (Fig. 1, not shown) or may act as stretchers underpinning other roof supports.
