854,978. Mine roof supports. EGGEMANN, W., and CAMPENHAUSEN E. VON [trading as SCHWARZ KOMM.-GES., H.]. Nov. 15, 1957 [Nov. 17, 1956 (2)], No. 35580/57. Class 20(2) A hydraulic pit prop comprises two telescoping parts of which the upper is separated into two sections 11, 16 between which is inserted an extension member 18 comprising four segments and secured by a band 19. The band 19 is releasably fastened by a quick release clip or wedge for withdrawing the prop. Alternatively the member 18 has annular flanges at each end which lie in recesses on the inside and outside of the sections 11, 16 respectively and the band 11 is replaced by pins passing through each annulus and section.
