Abstract

Cast valve seat inserts for internal combustion engines comprise a ring having a seating face for co-operating with a poppet valve, the ring being made of an alloy having a composition within the following range in per cent by weight: C 2.25-2.75, Cr 27.0-33.0, Co 10.0-14.0, one or both of W and Mo 5.0-7.0, Fe and incidental impurities the balance.
