Abstract
1,044,637. Tappets. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. July 25, 1963 [Aug. 17, 1962], No. 29501/63. Addition to 944,894. Heading F2K. [Also in Division F1] In a modification of the valve tappet described and claimed in Specification 944,894, a valve tappet has a ferrous metal tubular body closed at one end to form a base and a wear-resistant ferrous metal alloy coating is fused to the base which comprises by weight 1À5 to 3% carbon, 0À5 to 3À0% silicon, at least 2% molybdenum and at least 2% tungsten, the amount of the molybdenum and tungsten together not exceeding 10% and the balance iron.
