Abstract

791,276. Endless conveyers. FLINN & SON, Ltd., and FLINN, F. W. Sept. 20, 1955 [Sept. 21, 1954], No. 27276/54. Class 78 (1). Articles 5, suspended from hooks 2 carried by an endless chain 1, are discharged at selected stations by solenoids 23 which are energized when the associated pair of switch actuating arms 13 are raised by a selected pair of abutments 7 carried by hooks 2. Each hook 2 is provided with a transverse bar 6 on which are pivoted a series of counterweighted arms which constitute the abutments. These arms are pivoted to and from the operative position either manually or by electrical means (not shown) under the control of a keyboard. The armature 24 of each solenoid is connected through a counterweighted lever 25 and a link 28 with a rod 30 which, when the solenoid is energized, arrests the article 5 so causing it to fall from hook 2 on to a bar 33. The apparatus is described in connection with the conveying of articles of clothing on clothes hangers.
