Abstract

644,407. Endless conveyers. DEAN, J. Jan. 21, 1948, No. 1787. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XIII] In hank drying machines for textile fabrics an endless rail extends in part of its length through a drying chamber and an endless chain suspended from the rail carries swivelling hooks on which the hanks can be placed, the hooks having parts which strike fixed abutments at the loading and unloading points to turn them at right angles to the path of the chain while further abutments turn them in line with the chain before they pass into the drying chamber. The hooks 10 depend from an endless chain 9 supported by runners 9a from a fixed guide rail 8 and carry levers 12. Adjacent the loading and unloading positions parts 12a of the lever 12 engage a guide rail 13 to turn the hooks 10 and hold them at right angles to the chain. As the hooks enter the drying chamber they are aligned with the chain by an abutment 14 which engages tails 12b on the levers 12.
