775,579. Necktie retainers. MOUNTANOS, D. K. Sept. 20, 1954 [Aug. 18, 1954], No. 24034/54. Class 43. A necktie retainer comprises a length of wire 1 formed at one end into a loop or head 2 in the shape of an inverted triangle, the other end being shaped either to receive a securing- pin 5, Fig. 1, or as a pointed securing-hook 9, Fig. 2, adapted to be passed through the material of the necktie. The securing pin 5 is pushed into a loop 4 in the end of the wire and through the necktie into a hole 8 in a retaining plate 7, the pin being a tight fit in the hole. The length of wire intermediate the parts 3 and 4 is arched. In the alternative arrangement the end part of the wire is bent to form a loop 4, with the hook 9 at the extremity to engage in the narrow portion of the tie. In arranging the device the base of the wire triangle is inserted upwardly, either into the knot of a tie, or behind the knot so that the base bears against the neckband of the collar.
