Abstract
1303094 Neckties D G SEMPLE 7 Sept 1971 [10 Sept 1970] 43266/70 Heading A3V A knot former for use in the formation of a permanent knot in a clip-on tie comprises a dished symmetrical body having two converging wings 12, 14 arranged in a V-shape a stud 20 located at the forward end of the apex of the Vee, cooperating in use with a snap fit washer 26, and a hook 28 projecting between the wings 12, 14 from the rear end of the apex of the Vee, there being a gap between the hook and the stud. In use a necktie is preferred with holes and the knot is then tied around the former, the hook 28 and stud 20 passing through the holes to hold the knot which is finally secured by the washer 26. The former including the hook and stud are preferably formed in one piece from plastics material, and in a modified embodiment, the stud is provided so as to be a snap fit in a recess in the former.
