Abstract
152,552. Pabst, J. Jan. 2, 1920. Necktie-retainers. -A device for use - with hand - tied neckties particularly to preserve the shape of the slip knot after it has been tied and also to prevent movement of the tie relatively to the collar, comprises a plate a, Figs. 1 and 2, having a notch 2 to fit under the collar stud and an inclined portion b with pins 3, 4, 5, 6 projecting at right-angles thereto, an opening 7 being provided for use with the stud instead of the notch 2 if desired. In use, as shown in Fig. 3, with a tie bound from right to left, the pins 3, 4 are inserted through the knot into the slip 9 and the notch 2 slipped under the collar stud, the pins 5, 6, which in the case of a tie bound from left to right would engage the slip 9, serving to hold the tie in position relatively to the collar. In a modification, Fig. 7, the holder is provided with two pins 3, 4 arranged on the centre line, the pin 3 being adapted to engage the slip portion of the tie to prevent the knot from becoming loose.
