Abstract

766,337. Pallets for handling loads. GRIFFITHS (SMETHWICK), Ltd., A. E. Feb. 28, 1955 [Feb. 26, 1954], No. 5649/54. Class 78 (4). The height of the posts 5, 8 of the stillage illustrated is adjustable and the posts extend below the rectangular platform 4 to terminate in feet 6 adapted to seat on the tops of posts of a similar pallet. Each post comprises a pair of telescoping tubes 5, 8 of rectangular section locked to one another by a bolt passed through holes in a collar 9 of the lower tube 5 and in the tube 8. Bearing tubes may join each pair of holes in the upper tube 8. A cap 8a on the upper tube 8 is guided into the feet 6 of a similar pallet above by flared flanges 7 on the feet. The platform 4 may be replaced by a tray.
