750,919. Scaffolding struts. BRITISH BUILDING & ENGINEERING APPLIANCES, Ltd. July 21, 1954 [Aug. 12, 1953], No. 22210/53. Class 20(2). In scaffolding equipment for, supporting floor beams, &c. temporarily, an adjustment device comprises a tubular barlike member 1 provided with a fixed stop 2 therein near one end which receives the top of a scaffold pole 4, and a short cylindrical member 7 slidable in the member 1, and adapted to be supported by a collar 11, forms an abutment for the tubular body 6 of a head member 5, the collar 11 being adjustable along the member 1, As shown, the member 7 has arms 8 which project through opposed slots 9, and the supporting collar 11 has screw-thread engagement with the member 1. Arms 12 pivoted on the collar assist the adjustment of the collar. The pole 4 is held within the member 1 by an eyebolt 3.
