A member such as a tubular scaffold pole 1 is supported by a trestle support member 2 consisting of a leg 3 curved at its upper end and having a socket member 5 and a stop member 4 welded thereto, the lower end of the leg 3 being bifurcated by having a further leg 6 welded thereto In a modification, Fig. 4, a plank 9 is supported in a slot in the upper end of leg 10 and a stop member 11 is welded to the leg. In another modification, Fig. 6, a plank 15 is supported by a leg 16 bent at one end to be horizontal and having a tie member 17 welded thereto. The leg of the trestle support member may be telescopic to allow variation of height.
