Abstract

750,733. Windows. PITTSBURGH PLATE GLASS CO. April 15, 1954, No. 11149/54. Class 20(3). An explosion-resistant window comprises triangular segments 12 ... 15 of laminated glass with their adjacent edges held together by a yieldable elastic material. The elastic material may be the plastic interlayer 18 itself, as in Fig. 4, or it may be a strip 20 of an elastic tape secured to the surfaces of the adjacent segments. The strip may be perforated as shown at 21. A thin metal strip 22, Fig. 6, may be embedded in the plastic interlayer around the edge and serves as a means for securing the composite window to its frame 10.
