743,963. Carrying bulk cargo. BIBOLINI, G. B. Dec. 8, 1953 [July 24, 1953], No. 34172/53. Class 113. In an arrangement of cargo stowage devices provided in sea-going cargo vessels for dry cargoes in bulk comprising a plurality of plate elements a hingedly secured to the upper plating d of the double bottom of the vessel, the plate elements form partial bulkheads in their raised position and serve to concentrate the cargo at the centre of the vessel and locate it approximately under the hatches. The plate elements are manoeuvred by chains or cables e and gears and shafts f. Longitudinal walls G, G<SP>1</SP> pro. vided in the upper part of each side of the hold h are inclined at the angle of rest generally assumed by the cargo to allow complete filling of the hold without the necessity of levelling. The walls form with the deck, bulkheads and sides of the vessel spaces g, g<SP>1</SP> which may be used for carrying ballast or additional cargo.
