Abstract
737,174. Vehicle fittings. DURAMIN ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and OGLETHORPE, E. L. May 22, 1953 [May 22, 1952], No. 12993/52. Class 78 (4). A vibratory conveyer is mounted on a vehicle body to receive and discharge bulk material. Prismatic members 24 are secured to the hoppered interior sides of the body with small gaps between them closed by butterfly valves 26. Beneath these members is a vibratory conveyer comprising two overlapping troughs 27, 28 mounted on longitudinal girders 33 and connected to two further longitudinal girders 32 of unequal height by pivoting links 34. The girders 32 are mounted on transverse girders 29 and the pivots of the links have resilient sleeves. The troughs may be vibrated by any suitable means such as hydraulic rams. The vehicle when loaded has the material resting on the members 24. To discharge, one or more valves 26 is or are opened and the conveyer is set into vibration to discharge the material down the shoot 40. The gap between the top of the troughs and the vehicle body may be closed by a strip of suitable material. More than one conveyer may be provided leading to separate discharge openings.
